PS5 Pro Specifications Might Have Leaked, and They're Reportedly Much Higher Than the Current Model

The PS5 generation is a bit more unusual than what Sony is accustomed to, as the lack of exclusive titles is causing some unease within the gaming community, which already surpasses 42 million, according to the latest data provided by Sony.

The review for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the major 2023 game dedicated to the console, was recently published. Meanwhile, the rest of the new releases will focus on November, with the launch of the PS5 Slim and the PlayStation Portal. However, there might be a third hardware version from Sony, the PS5 Pro, the features of which might have leaked.

The information comes from WCCFTech, which cites RedGamingTech, familiar with the ins and outs of the console technology that Sony is preparing to release in 2024. Apparently, it would feature accelerated ray tracing, although the processor would not differ from the one used in the current PS5 version developed by AMD.

According to reports, this processor would have an eight-core Zen 2 clocked at 4 GHz. As for the graphics card, it would be an RDNA 3 operating at 2500-2800 MHz, with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory at 18000MT/s. However, Sony might be testing different components, so the final result of the PS5 Pro could be quite different.

It seems that the PS5 Pro will be much more powerful than the current model, which would give a boost to titles arriving on the console for the latter half of the generation.

The PS5 Pro is expected to hit the market in 2024, with the exact date yet to be determined.

Based on the latest reports, it seems highly likely that the enhanced version of the PS5 is about to become a reality. Previous reports claimed that the console would be ready by November 2024, so we might have to wait a year before Sony kicks off this second phase of the current generation, as it did with the PS4 and the launch of the PS4 Pro.

For now, of course, these are rumors and should be treated as such. We’ll have to wait for the official details from the Japanese company. The arrival of the PS5 Slim is indeed a reality, set for November.
